In a move towards promoting hygiene and women’s well-being under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives ,three sanitary napkin manufacturing units are setup in Surat, Navsari and Bharuch district in Gujarat with a combined capacity of 75000 packets of sanitary napkins per year from each unit. NHSRCL through this initiative aims to foster health awareness, and ensure a brighter, healthier future for the community.
Under the project “PRAGATI” implemented by Shakti Foundation Trust (a registered NGO), three such units are established in an effort to promote women’s health, education, and economic empowerment. These groups are engaged in the production of cost-effective sanitary napkins, addressing both the affordability and accessibility challenges that many women face in rural areas. The cost of procuring machinery and raw material are borne by NHSRCL.
For the next three years, around 5000 packets from each unit per month will be distributed free of cost to government school girl students and tribal/rural women in the villages.
